Sierra Leone.
Pls check the position of Sierra Leone in the Human
Development Index (UNDP, 2003).

Our mission to Africa begins in Sierra Leone, a nation that is just recovering from 10 years of civil war, and at the same time, dealing with the influx of refugees from neighbouring Liberia.
Arrangements are being made to  registered H.A.C.E. Int'l. in Freetown, and set up an administrative structure to implement  and manage our programs. We shall commence our operations in the areas of Education and Training; Access to Information through Computer Technology; Access to healthcare for all  and the provision of Need-Based Scholarships to students in primary and secondary schools.

Education and Training

It is our belief that education and training are key factors to reconciliation, reconsruction and
social healing. We intend to invest in the following:

1. Provision of need-based scholarships for primary and secondary  school children, with priority
given to disadvantaged, the underpreviledged, orphans, the handicapped, and child soldiers.

2. We shall establish disaster management training centers in Freetown and BO to train public health workers, relief workers and the general population disaster mitigation techniques. Prior to the war, Sierra Leone has been a very peaceful nation. Much attention has not been given to disater mitigation training. As a result, the masses and even health professionals had to rely on foriegn  expertism during crisis.

3. We shall also invest in computer education and access to information for primary, secondary and university students. It is interesting to note that 85-90% of the student body do not have access to computers or the internet. Even if they do, they cannot afford the cost of accessing the internet. We shall work with other non profit organizations in the United States and in other developed countries, computer donation organizations, the Ministry of Education and the Government of Sierra Leone, Principals of schools and local NGOs, to achieve this goal.

Healthcare And Nutrition For All

Sierra Leone is the least developed country in the World (UNDP human development index report 2003).  High infant mortality and high maternal mortality rates were among some of the parameters considered in this classification. Diseases and Poor Nutrition were responsible for this malaise. The occurence of diseases are as a result of lack of appropriate education on hygiene, lack of access to adequate and affordable health care and nutritional supplements or diets. HACE shall invest in sustenable agriculture development and basic helathcare training at grassroot level.

means of supporting them. Their fathers were killed in the war.
These children have no future, as this way of life continues to perpetrate violence,
murder, no education or love for one another. They hear no language except that of destruction. We need to help them overcome their hatred, and violent behavior.
They are the leaders of tomorrow.
